Class 3 Homework

In Class 3, homework is set on a Friday and must be returned by the following Wednesday. Homework is a chance for you to share and build on your child's learning.

Reading

Each term your child will be allocated a book for each week of the term on Bug Club. They are expected to read one a week, however, more can be added if they complete them before the term ends. You can find the Bug Club login information in your child's homework book. T

Maths

This term our focus is times tables. Your child will receive a sheet to complete each week, based on their target times tables. By the end of year 3, pupils are expected to be able to recall their 3, 4 and 8 times tables and by the end of year 4, they are expected to recall all the times tables up to 12. Times tables help in all other areas of their maths programme of study, so hopefully this focus, will assist in all the areas of your child's learning. You will also find a list of interactive websites and their login information, to consolidate their times tables knowledge in your child's homework book.

Spelling

Each week your child will receive a list of spellings to learn. These will be taken from the particular spelling focus they have been learning in class. The children are encouraged to practise in ways that help them and they have been taught a range of strategies in class. Please encourage your child to use the strategy that works for them, if this is orally, please make a note of their practise with you in their homework book. You can also find a document full of spelling strategies for you to try at home  below.
